![]() Aaranyak's Community Tiger Conservation Unit (CTCU) is a community volunteer force created around the Orang National Park in Assam, India to monitor human-wildlife conflict in the region. The Bodhi Tree Foundation's grant will be used to conduct CTCU workshops, establish additional units and build ten 'awareness camps' for communities around the park to learn about conservation efforts, focused mainly on the Royal Bengal tiger (currently categorized as Endangered on the IUCN Red List). www.aaranyak.org ![]() Conservation International is currently working in the Galapagos
marine reserve to facilitate co-existence between the
islands' wildlife and local communities. The Bodhi Tree
Foundation's grant will go towards replicating a successful
pilot project that eliminated harmful interactions between
sea lions and local fishing boats. The program would be a
win-win for the marine ecosystem and the local fishing village
of Puerto Villamil. www.conservation.org
Edeyo is an independent not-for-profit organization
dedicated to improving the future of children in Haiti by
rebuilding dilapidated schools, supplying students with
learning materials and providing them with nutritional
support. The Bodhi Tree Foundation grant, which was
generously matched by The Spirit of Big Five Foundation,
will rebuild a school that Edeyo had previously built in Bel-
Air that was destroyed in the January 2010 earthquake.
